概要:This course is taught in conjunction with universities in the International Network of Universities (INU), including universities in Australia, Japan, South Korea and Sweden. It aims to examine key issues relating to world order and security in the post-9/11 world, such as the roles of the USA, international institutions, and intelligence agencies, and the threats posed by terrorism and nuclear proliferation. It the opportunity for students to study issues such as these both at the University of Leicester and during a semester at one of the INU partner universities*, offering a unique opportunity to gain different perspectives on vital global issues. Central to the course is a compulsory summer school held in August at the University of Hiroshima where students examine a range of issues, such as human rights, the environment, migration, arms control, humanitarian intervention and conf ict resolution, through the lens of global citizenship and associated critiques. This means that students will be in Hiroshima on the anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bomb and will be able to participate in commemorative events.
