概要：This MSc provides rigorous, evidence-based training in investigative practices and subject-based theory and research. The course equips you in three critical areas: i) analytical expertise including an appreciation of decisions biases, methods of critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; ii) contemporary theories of criminality and criminal behaviour, focusing on critical areas such as fraud, drug use, and radicalisation; and iii) evidence-based skills and techniques that enhance the investigative process in areas such as case management, data analysis, and interviewing. The course combines residential and distance learning in a way that allows you to continue your career without compromising the breadth or depth of your learning. You will complete six modules and a dissertation. Each is taught through a combination of lectures, tutorials, visiting speakers and online self-study material. The research dissertation allows you to develop your personal interests in the context of one-to-one supervision with members of the department.
