概要：Today, archaeologists use a wide range of computer technologies for data collection, analysis and dissemination. This hands-on programme trains graduates in landscape archaeology and related fields of study to use a wide range of computer technologies for data collection, analysis and dissemination. It also develops the ability to undertake specialist research, or be employed within an archaeological unit or other environmental or curatorial organisation This programme provides students with a thorough grounding in landscape archaeology and an in-depth knowledge of GIS technology and its application to landscape studies. Teaching is embedded within Birmingham Archaeology, the specialist fieldwork and research services division of the Institute of Archaeology and Antiquity, providing access to ?elive project data?f and exposure to current research issues in field archaeology and resource assessment and management situations. The four core modules cover world landscape archaeology, introductory and advanced studies in GIS, spatial analysis, and field survey. There are further optional modules on subjects such as computer-based visualisation of landscapes, structures and objects, archaeological geophysics, and Holocene landscapes.
