概要：Our MA History of Film and Visual Media degree was the first postgraduate qualification of its kind in the London region, incorporating a research placement option and far-reaching film industry and cultural contacts. Our programme covers the history of audio-visual and moving picture media, from the early 1800s to the present day. It encourages its students to explore a wide variety of media, from early photography to early cinema, sound film and television, through to digital and computer-based imaging, exploring the multiple and exciting interactions between them. In all these fields, emphasis is placed on considering media in a broad historical context. Therefore, students explore such areas as literature, art and gender as part of their investigations into media culture. The course is also intended to develop skills of visual and aural perception and critical analysis of images, sounds and texts, and to familiarise students with current approaches to the discipline.
