概要：Environmental hazards can cause disease, but other factors enter in. These include the intensity and frequency of exposure, and the routes of entry into the body. Exposure scientists perform a wide variety of specialized field and laboratory measurements, computer modeling, and data analysis to estimate the risks of human exposure to harmful chemical, aerosol, physical, or biological agents. Exposure scientists apply their skills to a broad range of settings, from residential communities to industrial workplaces. The most frequent and intense exposures are often occupational. Hundreds of thousands of workers are injured, killed, or poisoned in the workplace each year. In our master's and doctoral programs, you can learn to assess and control health and safety risks, including exposures to hazardous materials.
