概要：This innovative programme provides a springboard into a PhD, or a career in industry or the health services, at a local, national or international level. It has been designed to enable basic and clinical scientists to become high-quality, research-active individuals by developing their advanced-level skills, conceptual understanding and knowledge of medical genetics and its ethical implications. The programme comprises taught modules (90 credits) and a research project (90 credits), which can be laboratory- or social-science based. The taught modules cover the following areas: human molecular genetics and bioinformatics; clinical genetics and cytogenetics; developmental and cancer genetics; animal models of disease; applied human genetics and genetic counselling; and ethical issues in medical genetics.
