概要：The course invites the comparative study of literary works of different linguistic and cultural origin and encourages exploration of the interrelations between literature and the other arts. A theory and methods core course introduces the most important approaches in literary criticism that have emerged over the last century. A number of specially designed options offer a detailed focus on literary themes, genres, and historical periods from a comparatist perspective. The programme embraces a range of languages and cultures within Europe, North America, South America and Asia. Comparative Literature at Edinburgh draws on the teaching and research expertise of internationally renowned departments, including several of the highest rated literature departments in the UK.
