概要：The rapid generation of large amounts of high quality biological data not only presents immense technical challenges but also provides us with new opportunities to find answers to some of the most fundamental questions in biology. Computational Biology is the subject that takes on the challenge of understanding the biological processes that underlie the raw data using computational techniques. The programme benefits from a significant contribution from scientists from the UEA School of Biological Sciences, the John Innes Centre, the Sainsbury Laboratory and the Institute of Food Research. A new research institute, The Genome Analysis Centre , currently being established in the Norwich Research Park, will also contribute to the MSc from 2009. Together with the School of Computing Sciences, these partner institutes offer an introduction to cutting-edge areas of biology that can be further enhanced through computational analysis. Input includes lecturing within the taught courses and the opportunity to host research projects.
