概要：This programme offers theoretical and practical training in the identification, analysis and scientific as well as socio-cultural interpretation of human and animal remains recovered from archaeological deposits. Thus it deals with archaeozoology (zooarchaeology), human osteology, biological anthropology, and physical anthropology. Aspects covered by the constituent courses include: Bone identification, anatomy and taphonomy; Analytical methods in Osteoarchaeology; Palaeopathology ? human and animal disease; Bone manufacturing ? animal raw materials; Human?animal interactions. The course uses lecture, laboratory and seminar sessions for teaching. Assessment is by coursework and a dissertation (15,000 words).
