概要：This course provides an in-depth training in both the quantitative and qualitative methods employed in contemporary psychological research. The course covers critical appreciation of existing research and research methods, philosophical foundations of approaches to research within cognitive and social psychology, formulation of hypotheses, designing and reporting experiments using a range of research methodologies, and subject-specific IT skills. The course is designed for graduates from psychology and related disciplines who are seeking a specific research training. It is recognised by the Economic and Social Research Council as an accredited postgraduate training route, and is ideal for students wishing to sharpen their research skills before embarking on a PhD. In association with this, a limited number of "1+3" ESRC-funded studentships are available.
