概要：This Masters programme equips natural science, social science health-related graduates and communication-related graduates with the skills to communicate, in an accessible manner, specialised knowledge to a wider public drawing on cutting edge psychological theory and research. Through taught courses and practical workshops, students will be trained to disseminate specialised information in a range of media, health and occupational contexts. The rationale underpinning this programme is bottom-up and market-driven. The course content is aligned with key government agendas in: public perceptions of and reactions to risk; public understandings of science; health, well-being and encouraging healthier lifestyles; emerging technologies and learning; and the focus on increasing client empowerment and stake-holder engagement. A psychological approach to the communication of science, risk and health is essential to the realisation of these agendas. This Masters programme will provide core skills for those planning or already engaged in careers in the following areas: central and local government; health education and health promotion; museums, education and life-long learning; and journalism in the fields of health, science and education.
