概要：The Department is in an exciting period of growth. The academic staff has doubled with seventeen new appointments being made during the last six years to strengthen existing research activities and enable us to move into emerging new areas. This is supported by ?5M of investment by the University in partnership with the Regional Development Agency and JEOL, the international leading company in electron microscope manufacture, to create the York JEOL Nanocenter. Reflecting this, our research student numbers have doubled, providing an exciting, active environment for new postgraduate students to join.
