概要：As part of the MPhil programme, students are required to attend a series of research training, preparation seminars and research student work-in-progress seminars as well as staff seminars. Students are also strongly encouraged to take part in other research activities within and outside of the department. In addition, students will be able to enrol for a teaching qualification offered by the King's Institute for Learning and Teaching should they intend to pursue an academic career. There are also a series of short seminars offered by the College relating to generic skills (eg using standard office software, career-planning, etc), which will supplement specialist skill classes offered by the School (eg using datasets or social science research database, etc). Students who transfer to the PhD programme will continue to attend research student work-in-progress seminars but will also be called upon to present their work at these seminars. They will continue to attend staff seminars and special events as well as participate in generic and specialist training opportunities.
